WORK EXPERIENCE

·        October 2014 : Part Time Personal Tutor

           Organized extra classes for secondary school students.

           Taught fundamental English to Francophone students and undergraduates.

           Translated students Academic Reports from French to English.

           Translated French poems into English for English speaking natives.

·        July 2014 – Present: Volunteer

Work as a Chinese-English interpreter during every summer camp in Sangmalima (Cameroon) hosted by the Confucius Institute.

           Translated Chinese documents into English at the Confucius Institute.  

·        July 2016 – October 2016: Teaching Assistant

          Arranged remedial classes for students needing a catch-up at the University of Yaounde I department of Art.

 I organised remedial classes for the level 1 and 2 students at the Higher Institute of Translation, Interpretation and Communication.

Prepared lesson plans for students preparing for the entrance examination to Translation Institutions like ISTIC and ASTI.

·        October 2015 – present: Freelance Translator

           Translating and editing comic and literary documents from French to English at AJEM (Association des Jeunes pour l’Emergence) Yaounde.

           Assistance translator at Polar Enterprise. Responsible for translating office documents and localizing site web.

           Working as an Associate Editor and Translator at the National Social Security Fund – Etoug-Ebe.

INTERNSHIP

·        August-October 2015

Academic internship in translation at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

-         Familiar with translation software tools (word fast, Tradox)

-         Able to fluently speak English and French

-         Highly skilled in Word, Excel, Publisher and Microsoft Outlook

-         Have a good knowledge about Computer Assisted Translation.

-         Able to prioritise work.

-         Can understand Chinese.

INTERESTS

Travelling, reading, writing novels and poems, making new discovering and learning new languages to facilitate cultural interaction
