For decades, I’ve been fascinated with creating stories, languages, cultures, teaching, and storytelling, but I have never quite found my niche, until I took a grant writing course through Coursera. Then it all clicked: I could use my love of writing and teaching skills to help an organization do good work for humanity.
I bring my knowledge of word crafting, storytelling skills, years of international relationship building experience, and the ability to see the larger picture. I have run two successful crowd funding campaigns through GoFundMe. I've also volunteered at two NPOs in India.
As a writer, I have gained solid research skills: I know my way around government databases and scientific databases that host thousands of research papers. Several years ago, I was intent on starting my own nonprofit. I learned how to navigate the Foundation Center's grant database and look for grants through the US government, as well as online searches. I also believe in the importance of showing gratitude and maintaining excellent relationships with funders.
