7 years’ experience in the design of Irrigation, Water and Sanitation infrastructure covering

of Irrigation infrastructure;
7 years’ experience in technical designs for various gravity and irrigation systems –
surface, sprinkler, and drip, covering intake works (weirs and intakes), conveyance and
distribution systems (piped and canal) and related structures and in-field irrigation systems;
Experience in participating in multi-disciplinary teams in projects as Graduate Engineer
including experts in various field of Engineering, Agriculture, Sociology, Economics,
Water Resources, Geology and Geotechnical Engineering, Environment and Surveying,

The Project is located in Siaya and Busia Counties and covers a gross area
of 5,800 ha, a net irrigation area of 4,075 ha, and consists of 14 irrigation
blocks. The components of LNIP-I are:
60m long and 4m high intake structure (weir) and associated
infrastructure on the Nzoia River;
About 83 km of conveyance, water distribution and drainage
canals for the estimated 4,075 ha irrigable area.
Activities performed include:

Design of tertiaries, in-field canals, drains, and irrigation
structures.
Assessment of necessary Land Development activities for
irrigation.

The project is in Kirinyaga County and entails evaluation of the condition
of all structures along the Scheme canals starting from the intake. These

Bridges, Turnouts, Drops, Off-takes, Chutes, Checks, Check-Drops,
Cross-drainage structures, Weir Boxes, Washing Steps, among others.
