In 2013, I moved from Detroit, MI to a remote island in Panamá to own and operate an adventure eco-lodge on the beach. This was not something that I had envisioned for my life a few years prior and when one thing led to the other I had to take a leap of faith. I do not regret a single decision of leaving a steady job and adapting to a new lifestyle, learning a different language and culture, and teaching myself how to become a chef and manage a kitchen of indigenous women to cook for guests from all over the world. For six years, this life taught me invaluable lessons: adaptability, how to relate to people from all different backgrounds, and how perseverance and hardwork, even when no one is watching, can make all of the difference in the results that you generate in business and in life. I am most proud of this endeavor in my career so far and believe that, along with my past work experiences, make me somebody that is willing to rise to the challenge and make an impact in your company.
