Stephen Gruppetta

My formal education and first career were in science, and I worked as an academic researcher and lecturer at London universities, mostly focusing on developing novel ophthalmic instrumentation.

Later, I left academia and set up Codetoday, a company to teach Python coding to children and adults. I taught and ran the company for eight years, recruiting and managing a team of instructors and developing the curriculum and lesson plans.

During this period, I also became an international Python educator, writing articles and communicating about Python on several platforms:

• My Python textbook for beginners (https://thepythoncodingplace.com/) and my regular articles (https://www.thepythoncodingstack.com/) have a large and growing following, mostly due to the focus on clarity and innovative technical writing style. Googling "python book" usually serves my textbook's website in the first organic place!
• I have been writing regular articles and creating video courses for Real Python (https://realpython.com/team/sgruppetta/) since 2020. Real Python is one of the world's leading Python education sites.
• I also write write articles for DataCamp, focusing on their Python content for data science. DataCamp is a leading education platform for data science and AI.

I now want to focus more on what I really enjoy doing: technical writing and Python teaching and communication.
