Sheldon Martin

Hi, I’m Sheldon—a passionate and versatile media producer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. I currently work as a producer at a multimedia communications agency where I oversee all stages of production, from pre-production planning and budgeting, through to execution and post-production delivery. I’m usually the point of contact across all aspects of a project, which means I’ve had to sharpen my communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills over the years.

My journey started in sound engineering after studying Sound Technology at Damelin. I’ve worked in a range of roles across film, television, digital, and branded content. I’ve handled location sound, studio work, podcast production, and post-audio editing. Over time, I moved into bigger-picture production work. I’ve line-produced TV commercials, led social media campaigns, managed rebranding projects for major news outlets, and even helped produce a fashion film and music video campaign for a local fashion house.

One of my strengths is adaptability. I’ve filled multiple roles when needed—editor, assistant director, post-production coordinator—and I always make sure what’s delivered is high quality, on time, and within budget. Whether it’s helping to bring a concept to life or ensuring all moving parts are in sync on set, I approach my work with professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility.

I also create and edit content for social media platforms, with a focus on making it engaging and purpose-driven. I understand how content needs to be tailored to specific audiences and platforms, and I’m comfortable working with a wide range of tools, including Premiere Pro, CapCut, and others.

I work well under pressure, I’m used to tight turnarounds, and I’m comfortable managing teams as well as handling things solo when needed. I also have a solid grasp of remote collaboration tools, and I’m always open to new ways of working more efficiently.

My long-term goal is to build a career that allows me to work with international clients, travel, and tell powerful stories through media. I’m open to both freelance and long-term opportunities, and I’m especially drawn to projects that are creative, fast-paced, and collaborative.
