OREGON HEALTH & SCIENCE UNIVERSITY, Portland, Oregon
2007 to 2010
Program Manager — Oregon Clinical & Translational Research Institute
• Managed the “Front Door” program from its inception, including overseeing the work of two
program staff. This program was responsible for helping researchers find and access resources,
funding, and personnel to support their new and ongoing research projects.
• Served as a member of the institute’s strategic communications team and met frequently with
communications personnel from other parts of the university.
• In coordination with the institute’s leadership, clarified the program’s offerings, developed
procedures for assisting researchers and tracking projects, created marketing materials and
website content, and communicated with staff from partner institutions.
• Promoted the institute and its resources through regular presentations to doctors, researchers,
graduate students, and other university groups.
• Oversaw the institute’s research funding program. This involved working with leadership to
develop requests for proposals (RFPs), providing input to the website development team for the
creation of a web-based funding application system, tracking submissions and reviewer
comments, and organizing application review meetings.
• Participated in the institute’s website and database development, including identifying key
