Shawn Racliffe

I am currently a freelance writer with over five years experience writing about scientific, medical, health and technology topics for print and online publications. My work has appeared on Healthline.com, Men’s Fitness, The Health Journal and others.

All of my writing is well-researched using medical and scientific databases, medical journal articles, interviews with scientists and other experts, and input from stakeholders. While most of my work involves presenting complex information to a general audience, I am comfortable writing for a wide range of publications and readers. This includes creating news stories, feature articles, in-depth interviews and profiles, website copy, marketing materials, social media content and infographics.

Previously I worked for over five years in academic research administration and program management. This involved extensive writing and editing of business documents, presentations, reports, textbook chapters, medical journal articles and grant applications. At these jobs I also gained experience in project management, including communicating with stakeholders, monitoring project tasks and deadlines, maintaining status reports, process improvement, and working independently on multiple projects under tight deadlines.

My undergraduate education is in Biology and Writing and I earned a master’s degree in Science Education. My technical skills include:
