Sanket Agarwal

I am a passionate and driven Data Science student with a strong foundation in machine learning, data engineering, and Python programming. My academic journey, supplemented by hands-on experiences across internships, has equipped me with a versatile skill set that spans data analysis, ETL processes, and web development. Currently, I am pursuing my MSc in Data Science at King’s College London, having been awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship worth £10,000 in recognition of my academic achievements and potential.

My expertise in data engineering is demonstrated by several impactful projects. Over the past year, I focused on building ETL pipelines, where I transformed complex datasets into usable insights, and optimized data flows for high-speed processing. In a particularly challenging project, I designed a process to convert data embedded in HTML into JSON format using Python libraries like Pandas, BeautifulSoup4, and Selenium. This project taught me the value of efficiency, as I learned to utilize built-in functions and streamline code execution, reducing run times and improving overall performance.

My work also extends into machine learning and natural language processing. During an internship, I collaborated on a recruitment portal project where I developed an algorithm that analyzed and scored resumes based on job descriptions. This involved integrating multiple libraries, including NLTK, Ray, and transformers, to achieve an efficient processing time and accuracy in shortlisting candidates. The algorithm's processing time was optimized from 16 to just 4 minutes through parallelization techniques, underscoring my commitment to producing efficient and scalable solutions. Additionally, my research paper on an advanced search algorithm for extracting information from Indian legal judgments was presented at the IEEE 7th International Conference on Computing, Communication, Control, and Automation, showcasing my research capabilities.

Beyond technical skills, I have honed my mentorship and teamwork abilities. I had the opportunity to mentor three interns during a project, all of whom transitioned to full-time roles. This experience not only enhanced my leadership skills but also deepened my understanding of team dynamics and collaborative problem-solving.

Driven by a curiosity for new technologies, I am currently exploring areas like AI Assurance in computer vision, modular architectures, and quantum computing for potential startup ideas. I am always eager to learn, solve complex problems, and connect with like-minded individuals in the tech community, making me highly motivated to contribute meaningfully to innovative projects and continuously expand my knowledge.
