Summary
I am an advocate of Human-centred design thinking in a digitalfocused world. Empathy and some savvy know-how is needed to
create truly human-centred solutions. My expertise lies in working on
design solutions fo mobile and web.
My current challenge lies on moving Nedbank's live chat and
Chatbot client journeys to a "Gold standard".
I have garnered a wealth of experience ranging from graphic and

challenges is fun, whether in design workshops with stakeholders or

Absa
3 years 1 month
UX/Product Design Lead
September 2017 - August 2018 (1 year)
Johannesburg Area, South Africa
As part of Absa Group Limited Design Office, I function as a Product Design
Lead, specifically within the Absa Banking App squad. As the UX lead, our
team was able to successfully launch Absa’s redesigned official banking
app after three significant design pivots due to the changes within the
organisation.
Running design workshops with the requirements team which consists of
the product owner, business, and systems analyst, the customer experience
designer, the user interface designers and a representative from the
development team. The design workshops help us to run through user stories
and start making design decisions regarding the interaction flows within the
banking app.
• Creating UX documents which contain both the app screens and the user
flows for both positive and negative journeys when interacting with the app.
• This includes creating low fidelity prototypes using Invision, Adobe
Experience Designer or any other software that would allow us to get the
design in front of a user for testing.
• Facilitating usability testing sessions with both internal banking employees
as well as individuals that met our specific personas, recruited via an agency.
The results from these user tests were fed into the design and development
backlogs in order improve the usability of the app.
• Some the user tests included, one-on-one user interviews, video capture
of the user interacting with the app on a device and quick guerilla-style user
testing in the hallways of our office building in order to get quick feedback
regarding a specific design challenge.
