DAYMON INTERNATIONAL
Headquartered in Lisbon, where it has its international resource center with 80 employees, is responsible for all markets outside

Invited to join Daymon to contribute to new business generation through the setup of new service lines and new clients pitch in
retail and consumer goods areas and to the optimization of internal synergies. Reporting to Senior Director, leading a direct

In 2009 the former Sonae Distribuição was split in 3 sub holdings: SonaeMC (food retail), SonaeSR (specialized retail) and

the pursue of commercial excellence by leading strategic initiatives and market and business performance monitoring. Setup

SONAE DISTRIBUIÇÃO
Sonae Distribuição was the sub-holding of the Sonae Group for the Retail area. With interests in food (hypermarkets,
supermarkets and convenience formats) and non-food retail (consumer electronics and household appliances, fashion, sports
goods) is a benchmark reference in the retail market, after having revolutionized the consumer habits and commercial
landscape in Portugal with the opening of the first hypermarket in the country in 1985.

The increasing importance of promotions and customer data in retail was the motivation to implement an integrated approach
transversal to all business units.
Setting the promotions management and customer data knowledge practices and team was a challenge given the traditional
independent approach of each business unit. Reporting to Food Commercial Area Board Member.

increased overall promotions relevance for customers and reduced promotion cost.

Business Development Director (fresh food commercial department)
2006 – 2008
Company identified the opportunity to revamp fresh business areas and thus grow its market share to fair share levels.
Reporting to the Commercial Director and working with business units, marketing, store development and own brands teams,
and with external partners my role was to coordinate the fresh food businesses transformation program.

Having successfully launched and consolidated Continente Online market position, was challenged to join marketing
department as Continente brand manager and contribute to improve brand evaluation and sales in a year when a rebranding
would occur. Reporting to Marketing Director.

2002 – 2005
Completed the e-commerce setup of main Sonae retail banners the focus turned into streamlining operations and consolidating
Continente Online as e-groceries leader in Portugal. Leading marketing, site management, customer service and logistics teams
in a total of more than 120 people distributed by 12 locations. Achieved a positive ebitda from 2003 onwards. Reporting to ecommerce director.

Having joined the team responsible for the startup of e-commerce at Sonae as representative of Management Planning and
Control for the business plan definition soon the scope grew to become the Project Manager acting as deputy Project Director.
A complete start up adventure. Using technology to change the way people shop. Working with 6 external partners.

In a path towards business management, was challenged to integrate Management Planning & Control department to
consolidate controlling practices in the new Category Management organization. Reporting to MP&C Director and leading a
team. Overseeing 25 business units (both food and non-food).

control practices with category managers (5 departments / 25 business units) including annual planning process

redesign, development and implementation of the new management system.

1998 – 1999
Member of small team responsible for the setup of a new era in the information systems at Sonae Distribuição following the
spin-off of the previous department. Assured information systems need of Commercial and Management Planning & Control
were met. Reporting to Information Systems Director.

Invited to help transform Sonae Distribuição from a decentralized (store based) in a centralized category management
organization. The transformation program included change projects covering organization, information systems, pricing,
promotion, space, assortment. Reporting to Program Director and leading a team of 3.
