Hi, my name is Rokas and I am a student at the University of Sheffield. I am doing a dual bachelor's degree of Business Management and Modern Languages and Cultures. For the Languages and Cultures part of the degree I have chosen to study French language, Spanish language and French culture.
This course takes international business studies to a new level, since you are actually studying languages and cultures along with the business modules.
Throughout my studies I have been a part of many successful team projects, some of which I was the leader of. This experience has showed me how self-sacrificing a leader must be, since as a leader you are the last defence, the quality control, the representative, the motivator, the organiser, which adds up to a lot of responsibility. However, seeing my team succeed is what made it so rewarding, having had put so much effort into it.
Studying at a business school, that is a leading school in the UK and in the world, I have attained a first-class knowledge in different fields of business, such as marketing, strategy, supply chain or economics to name a few. With this knowledge I have formed a robust view of the business world ranging from start-ups to macroeconomics.
I have just finished my third year, which was a year abroad, during which I studied at the Aix-Marseille University in France, Marseille for the first semester, and for the second semester I went to study at the UPC university in Lima, Peru. This has been an irreplaceable experience where I learned how to be successful working in teams of people from different cultures across the world.
At the moment I am on my gap year, concentrating on my individual studies and also looking to gain further career experience before I return to the final year of my degree.
In the past I have worked in sales, real estate, hospitality. I have worked as a personal assistant, also in financial industry in customer service and investigating complaint cases.
I have also attained a certification in PRINCE2 Foundation and PRINCE2 Agile Foundation and am currently studying for my PRINCE2 Practitioner exam.
