ROBERTA HEIGH WEIR
P R O F IL E
I am an ATA Certified Spanish-to-English translator, editor, reviewer, and proofreader
with 15 years of experience providing language services. I have translated over
5,700,000 words, maintaining perfect quality and 100% on-time project delivery.
After living in Costa Rica for 34 years, I became a dual citizen of that country and the
US, my country of birth. As a result, I speak, write, and read Spanish fluently and thus
translate from Spanish into my native US English. I founded and operated a non-profit
organization in Costa Rica and now live in Egypt, working full-time as a freelance
remote translator with important enterprise clients worldwide.

I was responsible for all facets of the non-profit dedicated to natural reforestation in
Costa Rica. I led teams of up to 30 people in the field and ten or more in the
administrative facet. I initially co-founded the non-profit in Costa Rica and then started
another branch in the US with 501c3 status. The organization planted over 150,000
native trees in Costa Rica’s northern zone.

English proofreading, editing
Specialization: Finance, legal, marketing, non-profits (grants, guidelines, manuals,
etc.), and resumes.
Document formatting and recreation: Highly skilled in Adobe Acrobat Pro/MS Word
crossover, using these to recreate and format a higher quality version than scanned
PDF source documents. I subscribe to both. Therefore, I always have the latest versions
available.
Project Management - As a result of my years running all facets of reforestation
projects, from fundraising to planting, with several teams of volunteers.
