About

My translation career started while I was running a small NGO in Costa Rica, where I served as CEO. I handled all its written content and managed projects in the field. Since donations were earmarked for projects, my work was unpaid. By 2012, I needed income. At the time, my intern suggested I register as a freelance translator with a new online translation service (Blend Localization). She felt I was since I’d been successfully translating the NGO’s content for years.

Written communication has always been my passion, but THIS changed my life!

After doing small translation jobs for a year or two, I started working exclusively for some of the agency’s enterprise clients in the financial and legal sectors. I have been their #1 Spanish-to-English translator and proofreader/editor for over 8 years.

Rather than follow the AI trend, I chose another path: to pursue certification through the American Translators Association. Since fewer than 20% of candidates pass, this certification truly demonstrates a translator’s skill. I studied and then took the proctored exam in 2024. I passed and earned my ATA certification in December of 2024.
