Robert Miller

I'm an Information Technology professional with over 10-years of experience with both Servers and Workstations. Additionally, I have over 6 years of railroading experience. I am exceedingly patient while advising/instructing others, and work well both solo and in a team. I started my career as a contractor doing odd-jobs (preventative maintenance, PC imaging solutions) until I was picked up by another contracting company specifically to handle a contract for Canadian National Railroad. The work was for deskside support and PC imaging. I worked with that company for over 5 years working my way up to Team Lead and VIP Liason for the group. My skills were then tapped by Canadian National Railroad themselves supporting their CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) system software and infrastructure. I performed many system administrator duties (alongside supporting their CAD software) including server maintenance, patch installation, GPO management, and DNS management. I then moved to an official System Administrator role within Canadian National Railroad where I continued to perform duties on their full set of production and non-production servers. I additionally provided support to application support teams to help them troubleshoot and provide them with working solutions. I also worked with the integrations teams to implement new solutions into the various environments.
