my profile Through these years working as a UI Designer I have come to the conclusion that probably, only 10% of designers are 100% reliable and have self-management skills. Both of these characteristics are achieved only after years of experience and hard work sitting down with clients, project managers, developers, and all stake holders completing tight and realistic deadlines and actually feeling good about actually knowing how your work team works and how far you can go with teamwork. I definitely make part of that 10%, because I have the experience and the maturity to take on a role that will most definitely make me wear more than one hat at a time. Some of my most important accomplishments were: - Ideation process for custom made products radically changed as wireframing and brainstorming sessions with the client were introduced into the workflow. - Before I was hired there were some QA and performance testing going on. So after I arrived there was a complete U turn regarding product creation processes. - Workflow with developers also changed, before my arrival, there was almost no presence of the designer in the work process. My main accomplishments were: - Journalists were very limited when it came to multimedia tools, so after I came in they were able to create and write their stories knowing that they could depend on resources such as custom video intros, video outros, web images, video galleries, micro sites and analytics, and as a consequence of this the final product improved greatly. - Not only that but click through rates increased, recurrent visitors increased, social media campaigns started bringing in more visitors, and in overall, users spent more time on the reportages and they started filling out registration and newsletter forms, so those also indicators started going up. This project was approached from the groundup, the first thing that was done was a series of meetings with the client to start creating a project´s profile, a user´s profile and a list of requirements. With this information defined, I started to design the product alongside with the client. This stage of the process ended with a hi-fi invision prototype. Right now the project is on the programming stage. Sicon App Datatraffic Sicon is an app designed for the Colombian customs police. This application seeks to substantially improve the field work of customs agents.
