Now retired from a lifetime in hospitality and many years as a very successful restaurant owner, I'm qualified to write about all aspects of that industry. The school of hard knocks has played a big part in my knowing that things have to be communicated in a clear, concise and easily understood fashion. Unless you’re a politician, of course.
As a freelancer, I have completed projects as different as brochures for the IT industry, articles for tourist information sites and paraphrasing legal articles.
Below is a partial list of my experience and skill sets.
• Ten years designing, teaching and managing Technical Institute courses for hospitality employees and potential employees, from the kitchen through to front of house and industry specific finances
• Published 6 children’s books about the solar system– ‘How Long Would it Take to Cook a Pizza on Venus? ‘The Lonely Little Giraffe’, etc.
• Written everything from training manuals to short stories, one completed (as yet unpublished) novel and many posts for my website, ‘Up Close and Personal in Thailand.’
• Eighteen years as the owner of a two hundred seat restaurant in a busy tourist area with a turnover in excess of 1.2 million $NZ a year.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
