I am a graduate of Kansas State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biological Systems Engineering. I completed rigorous coursework centered around engineering and biotechnology. The courses I have taken include higher math through differential equations, organic chemistry, microbiology, and biochemistry. I believe these courses have prepared me well to work in an environment centered around biological lab work and research.
While in university, I was employed at the Nanotechnology Innovation Center of Kansas State, in the Department of Veterinary Medicine in the Diagnostics Laboratory. I completed research working with mentors and post-docs primarily involving cellular uptake of nanoparticles with various cell types including human hepatocytes. After completing my undergraduate degree, I have worked in industry where I have gained experience working in a high throughput, commercial DNA laboratory environment.
