Hi, I’m Olivia, and I’m currently starting my journey as a bookkeeper. While I may be new to this field, I’ve taken the time to learn and train myself through online courses and a bookkeeping internship. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, especially because I started with zero background—but I didn’t let that stop me.
I took online courses on QuickBooks and Xero, where I learned how to set up accounts, record transactions, manage invoices, and prepare financial reports. I applied what I learned during my internship, where I helped with real tasks like importing data, arranging chart of accounts, bank reconciliations, categorizing expenses, and generating reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and trial balances. These experiences taught me not only the technical side of bookkeeping but also how to be dependable, detail-oriented, and resourceful.
When I get stuck, I don’t give up easily. I use tools like Google, YouTube, and ChatGPT to find answers and understand things better. I’m not afraid to ask questions or research on my own until I find the right solution. That’s one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned—that being resourceful is a skill, and I’m proud to say it’s one of my strengths.
Before bookkeeping, I worked in sales and admin roles. These jobs helped me develop transferable skills like organizing data, handling customer needs, and managing reports. I may not have years of experience in bookkeeping yet, but I’m confident in my ability to grow because I enjoy learning and doing things right.
I’m excited to start this new chapter and bring my growing skills into a real work setting. My goal is to support businesses by keeping their financial records clean, updated, and easy to understand. I believe that even if you’re just starting, with the right attitude, consistency, and willingness to learn, you can still bring value to the team.
Thank you for considering me—I’m looking forward to learning more and doing meaningful work in the bookkeeping field.
