Software Engineer, ITBA
Description
My name is Nicolás Buchhalter. Originally from Pilar, Buenos Aires province, in 2011 I moved to the city
of Buenos Aires to study in ITBA. I kept an average above 7 and focused my career in studying subjects
with respect to new technologies such as big data, machine learning, artificial intelligence and
cryptocurrencies. I also studied on agile methodologies.
On the third year of the career I started working at Wolox, a software factory focused on entrepreneurs,
where I focused on backend development with Ruby on Rails. I worked on this role for 3 years, going
through different projects, all with entrepreneurs, which made me understand a lot the entrepreneurial
environment and learn about many different items and businesses. In addition, I began to play the role
of Scrum Master, for which I attended several internal trainings, and the role of Buddy, which aimed to
help the newcomers to integrate theirselves socially with the rest, and to understand about the
different business policies, which helped me develop a lot my human skills.
In 2017 I was promoted to the role of Team Manager, a role that consisted of coordinating work teams,
both graphic design and development, making a link between the company and team participants, as
well as between the company and clients from different parts of the world. I managed to coordinate 16
different projects and had up to 15 people in charge simultaneously. As training, I took the
ScrumAlliance Certified Scrum Product Owner course.
In mid-2017, I was assigned a new role in parallel to the Team Manager one, as Sales Analyst. My task
was to contact new clients, make a functional analysis to give an entity to their ideas and estimate
times and costs, and then present a commercial proposal.
I continued with these roles until early 2018, when I quit Wolox to take a few months to travel the world.
Meanwhile, I kept on doing some Ruby On Rails development work as a freelance in "Un Ensayo Para
Mi"
In November 2018 I joined Banco Supervielle to work as Product Owner in the area of Digital
Innovation. As the bank was going through a difficult economical situation, there was no innovation
projects to work on. Finally I ended up being part of the public website team as a ReactJS and NodeJs
developer, until August 2019.
Now, I am currently on France with the idea of staying until August 2020, with the aim of improving my
french speaking skills while working remotely.
