GOALS:
● To ensure proper integration of new employees into the company.
● To promote good understanding of role and the company’s structure

● To promote long- term retention of employees.
● To enable new employees to familiarize with colleagues, various
units/departments.
● Provide new employees access to information about the company.

PHASE 1: PRE-ONBOARDING
● Upon acceptance of the offer, send a welcome email and attach new hire

documents that can be completed online.
● Call the new employee - this affords them the opportunity to ask questions
and assure them they have made the right choice.
● Notify the I.T of the technology needs and get them ready for employee’s
use on the first day.
● Assign someone to relate with employees.
● Prepare the employee’s workspace.
PHASE 2: ONBOARDING AND WELCOMING NEW EMPLOYEES.
● Provide a welcoming environment on the first day.
●
Filling of other new employees’ documents - tax, pension, HMO forms etc
●
Introduce the person who will be training them.
● Explain what is expected of them in the first week.
● Make tea/coffee and lunch a group event.

PHASE 3: ORIENTATION.
● General training: company overview - structure, culture; discuss policies,
procedures and compliance etc
● Team-focused training - clarify job roles and responsibilities
PHASE 4: TRANSITION TO NEW ROLE.
