Project: Bassein Development Project (BCP-A3 and BLQ-3)
Main Contractor / Fabricator: L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE)
Client / Operator : Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Ltd. India
Located in Indian sea, this project is an offshore platform comprising of one process platform for additional gas compressor units and utilities and one LQ platform to man the facility operators.
In this project, I was assigned as Deputy Lead Engineer and Area Lead for Instrument engineering support for Mechanical Package. I assisted my lead in setting up the engineering and design team.
Project: Bergading CPP & WHP EPCIC Project Detailed Engineering
Main Contractor / Fabricator: Hyundai Heavy Industries
Client / Operator : HESS Exploration & Production Malaysia B.V
Located offshore at northern part of Malaysian peninsula, this project consists of a Natural Gas Central Processing Platform, and a bridge-link wellhead platform.
In this project, I was assigned as the Deputy Lead Engineer and Area Lead for Process Control and Safety Systems. I was also involved in the FEED verification phase, and project planning for the detailed design phase. I had executed the detailed design phase from kick-off where I helped my lead to set up the team, the engineering and design hardware and software, etc. After issuing all IFC drawings, Aker handed over the remaining engineering to HHI and I was seconded to HHI’s fabrication yard in Ulsan Korea, for follow on engineering support.
Project: Kebabangan Northern Hub Project (KBB) Detailed Engineering
Client / Operator: Kebabangan Petroleum Operating Company
Located offshore in Sabah, Malaysia, KBB project is an Oil and gas platform for processing, wellheads and living quarters.
I played multiple roles in different stages of the project. I joined in the mid stage of detailed design, and was assigned as responsible engineering support for Mechanical Packages. Then I replaced the deputy lead engineer who was also the area lead for Mechanical and Electrical packages but eventually resigned from Aker and then tasked to lead after my lead was mobilized to another project. Due to delay in placement of order of most of the Mechanical Packages, and due to some design changes, KBB project was delayed and needed to be re-baselined. I was heavily involved in the re-baseline planning and additional man hour estimate. I stayed in the project along with small team for the fabrication site engineering support.
Project: Bunga Kekwa D (BKD) FEED Project
Client / Operator: Talisman Energy Inc.
Located offshore eastern Malaysia, this FEED project aims to give basic engineering and design concept for the proposed BKD unmanned and remote wellhead platform.
I was the RE for Plant Control and Shutdown Systems (PCSS) package. The systems design is to provide unmanned supervisory control of the BKD platform, with facilities to communicate back to the CPP platform thru a digital microwave radio, for monitoring and remote shutdown.

With such a small scope, there was only one engineer per discipline, and few drafters, to provide engineering and design deliverables for the BOP project. As the Instrument and Control design engineer, I was responsible for the instrument packages, drawings and MTO. Has had a short trip to Thailand for the FAT of BOP control logics, which I developed during engineering.
After engineering was completed, I was assigned as a site supervisor to oversee construction activities related to instrumentation works and interfaces, not only of the BOP, but also of the Boiler plant, as part of Electrowatt’s contract for the overall EPCM.
