Participated in different phases of the project such as FEED, FEED verification, detailed design and engineering, site supervision and pre-commissioning, for various local and international projects.

First eight years of my career, I worked as Electrical and Instrument design engineer, and thereafter focused on Instrument and Control design and engineering.

Lead Engineer
•Attending project meetings with other leads from all disciplines and client counterparts to identify and resolve inter-discipline engineering and design issues
•Planning instrument and telecom discipline activities
•Supervise around 30 engineers, designers and drafters
•Progress reporting
•Resolve site queries during construction phase
•Engineering and design man-hour estimate

Deputy Lead Engineer
•Same job description as the lead engineer, except making major decisions which is the responsibility of the lead engineer

Engineering Area Lead
•Supervise a group of instrument and control engineers within the project team, to ensure quality and timely issuance of requisition documents, datasheets and technical bid evaluation
•Field instrument area lead, supervising a group of engineers responsible for various field instrument, control valve, analyzers and on-off valves packages
•Control and safety systems area lead, supervising a group of engineers responsible DCS, SIS and F&GS Package
•Mechanical package area lead, supervising a group of engineers responsible for providing engineering support to mechanical department for various Mechanical Packages, and providing vendor data for incorporation in the Instrumentation team’s deliverables.
•Responsible for generating key Project documents such as Control Philosophy and Safety Systems Philosophy

Checker
•Checking engineering and design deliverables such as requisition documents, instrument datasheet, bid evaluation tabulation and reports, control and safety system architecture, control narrative, fire and gas cause and effect, instrument location plan, hook-up drawings, wiring diagrams, BOM, loop diagrams, Instrument Index and IO List

Responsible Engineer
•Responsible Engineer (RE) for instrument and control system packages such as for: Integrated Control and Safety Systems, Metering Package, pressure, temperature, flow including multiphase flow meter, and level instruments, on-off actuated and control valves, choke valve, fire and gas devices
•Generating the Requisition documents, technical bid evaluation, datasheets
•Vendor data review
•Inter-discipline coordination

Instrument engineering support for Mechanical and Electrical Package
•Provides engineering inputs to mechanical and electrical packages during requisition, technical bid evaluation and vendor document review stages
•Mechanical package handled includes Gas Turbine Generator (Solar), Gas Turbine Compressor (Solar, GE), CFB Boiler, Emergency Diesel Generator, Chemical Injection, Fire Water Pump, Centrifugal and submersible pumps, Air Compressor, Nitrogen Generator, Waste Heat Recovery Unit, HVAC, Gas cooler, Produce Water system, and other small packages

Instrument and Control Designer
•Generating drawings such as Control Room and Instrument Equipment Room layout, Control, Safety Systems, Fire and Gas Systems Architecture, Instrument Location Plan, Instrument Wiring Plan, Instrument Air piping plan, Cable Tray routing and section and support details, Hook-up drawings, Installation Details, Wiring Diagram, Loop Drawings, IO List and Instrument Index

Electrical Designer
•Generating drawings such as Electrical Room equipment layout, Power and control cable routing, single line diagram, Lighting Layout, Grounding and Lightning Protection layout
•Power cable sizing calculation
•Illumination calculation

Other Tasks Performed
•Engineering support during HAZOP, SIL, P&ID and Model reviews
