Marlene Halim

I am a US citizen with American English as my mother tongue, though located presently in Indonesia, Southeast Asia. I have been editing for the last two years, mainly articles, essays, and non-fiction work, including academic papers using MLA and APA formats. I have edited a brochure for a non-profit, a scholarship application letter, and hotel descriptions for a travel site.  With nearly 5 years of recent experience teaching English Composition in California, USA, including writing structure and development, spelling, punctuation, and grammar, I am confident in my editing skills. Besides teaching these elements, I also created lessons and tests in these subjects. In Spring 2021, I took an Academic College Composition Course which included research and correctly creating bibliographies in MLA and APA formats. In fall 2020, I was awarded TEFL Certification (140 hours) with specialization in Teaching English Online, Business English, Teaching English to Young Children, and Examination Prep for TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC. I speak Indonesian fluently and am confident to translate writings from the Indonesian language to English.
