Marisleidy Chávez Hernández

Majoring in English Language Studies provided me with important tools for the exercise of translation and interpretation professionally, which I have carried out in parallel with my job as an English Language teacher. Ever since I graduated, I have been constantly working on improving my skills in both fields. I was able to take the course Professional Development in ELT Methodology at Edinburgh College and the Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) by Cambridge that made it possible for me to strengthen my abilities teaching English to students of 7 years old and above. 

I have also been recently acknowledged as a Certified Translator in Cuba, which enables me to translate legal documents from Spanish to English and viceversa. Participating in translation and post-editing projects has been an amazing way to practice and keep up with the latest technologies used in this area.

I am now a student of the Master's Degree in Professional Translation and Intercultural Mediation taught by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Spain, where I have developed skills for subtitling and transcribing audiovisual materials.
