Back in 2014, I decided to venture into writing full-time. Since then, I've played around with my options, as I've worked in a digital agency, the travel and tourism industry and now, a corporate space, making me a rather versatile writer (if I should say so myself), in such a short space of time.
I started off working for a digital marketing agency, where I produced blog articles, press releases and social media copy for various clients, including Zone Fitness, AgriSA, Speedy and WeChat, to name a few.
Then, I went on to work as a Senior Digital Content Producer for CapeTownMagazine.com, where it was my job to source and write relevant articles on events happening in and around Cape Town, liaise with clients and write client content (which included restaurant reviews, feature articles, promotional event content, etc.). In this role, I trained new writers and helped out with proof-reading and editing duties.
At this point, I've moved into a more corporate space and I am currently employed at a debt counselling firm, as the in-house content writer and social media manager. As content writer, I produce website copy, blog articles, press releases, copy for email and SMS marketing campaigns. As social media manager, I write copy for social media posts and handle all Facebook campaigns and social media marketing campaigns.
