PROFILE I am a professional Creative Designer with huge passion for illustrations. I have a vast amount of knowledge dealing with clients and the design process from concept creation to production. During the last few years I accomplished several successful projects as a freelance graphic designer, building strong relationships with recurring clients and other members of the design community. In my current role I work as a Digital Designer for a Web Design Agency, where I am their primary designer responsible for website and app design. In my previous role I rebranded CASI UK (division of American Company) into the internationally recognised brand SPHERE Global. It is with great enthusiasm that I seek a position that will allow me to apply and further advance my skill set as a Creative Designer. I am confident that I can deliver an excellent standard of work to clients, contributing to their commercial success. For instance, I designed brochures for Allingham Arms Hotel. These promotional materials were so effective at attracting new customers that the client increased their order five-fold –from 1000 copies to 5000. SKILLS UI/UX Design In my current role I am responsible for creating digital products. During my time in college we were taught problem solving, always thinking about user and provide solutions that make a positive impact. Over the years I have learnt how to apply design thinking methods used in physical product development to digital solutions. I believe that all the skills and experience that I acquired over the years, makes all the difference in the way that I interpret and understand the client's needs and what they are try to achieve with their products. The main software I use is UXPin, Adobe XD and Illustrator. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Through employment, college, and additional study I have gained experience with presentations, positive communication with clients, and formal correspondence. Part of my role as Creative Designer in SPHERE was creating presentations for clients around the world. My duties included creating infographics which explained easily and interestingly, the world of automation. ORGANISATION SKILLS I have exceptional time management and organisational skills, allowing me to work efficiently and effectively, For example, during the NI Open (for which SPHERE was the main sponsor) I was responsible for organizing logistics for invited VIP guests and PRO AM Day. Part of my role was also designing and organizing print and delivery of signage for golf course and 18th hole. One of the most challenging tasks up to this date was design, execute and shipment of tradeshow stand to India. The reason for this project to be the most challenging was that I was given only two weeks for everything as the decision for taking part in it was last minute. The tradeshow turned out to be a huge success. TEAMWORK I am a highly motivated individual, comfortable working as part of a team and I am also very capable of acting on my own initiative. I have excellent interpersonal and team-working skills, enhanced through years of experience interacting with various customers with individual needs for their businesses. Currently, depending on my involvement in the project, I am working with design engineers, software developers and web designers. I enjoy working with people as it is always a chance to look at tasks from different perspective and learn from each other. For smooth communication we use Slack, Trello, Quip and Google Products. PROBLEM SOLVING I have particular strength in analytical and problem solving skills. For my level 8 Degree project I designed a solution for changing people perspective on throwing cigarette butts. Part of the solution was to encourage people to throw cigarettes into the specially designed bin – Butty Bin. COMPUTING Over the years I have been working on multiple programs including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe XD, InDesign, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects and Dreamweaver. I am also proficient in using Solid Works and UXPin and possess basic knowledge of HTML and CSS. PRINT KNOWLEDGE During my work in Freelance, part of my service was to organize print for clients. In order to fully understand printing process I went to do an Internship in Orbicon Print, printing company based in Collonney, Co.Sligo. LEADERSHIP While working in SPHERE I was assigned to be a Project Manager on multiple projects. One of the projects included creating new division for SPHERE, where I was responsible for managing creating new website, marketing material and working closely with team of electrical engineers to ensure targets and deadlines are met. ACHIEVEMENTS AND INTERESTS Clubs and Society Personality of the Year Award IT, Sligo Upon conferral of my Level 7 Degree I was delighted to receive the Clubs and Society Personality of the Year 2011 Award for extensive volunteer work with the Enterprise Society during which I was responsible for designing promotional material for Innovation Week 2010 and 2011 at IT, Sligo. 24 Hour Universal Design Challenge Representative IT, Sligo 2011 I was elected to represent IT, Sligo in the 24h Universal Design Challenge held in Tullamore, Ireland where I played a proactive role amongst a team designing a carrier bag for people with impaired vision. Working as team member with diverse personalities was a positive experience that significantly contributed to the development of leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skill sets. Accordingly, my studies routinely endeavoured to emphasize HTML & CSS skills. Today, websites are increasingly the key interface through which customers do their business and, for that reason, I feel that web design, in particular, is a significant skill set to maintain and advance. As a designer I am also drawn to the marginalia of people’s lives within which I find important insights and ideas. In seeking these insights I also pursue a variety of informal study.
