Macey Heslet

I am a Program Coordinator for the Ohio Export Internship Program, part of the export assistance team at the Ohio Department of Development. I am a global citizen in a landlocked state, guiding small businesses and international business students to expand their global trade experience on a practical and tangible level at home.

I started my education at Baldwin Wallace University, where I completed my degree in International Affairs, a political science program with the advantage of global economic and cultural insights. This founded my passion for development economics and behavioral economics. My experience studying abroad in Japan and later joining the National Model African Union delegation cultivated my intercultural communication, organizational, and project leadership capabilities.

My research, analysis, and problem-solving skills were further developed becoming a subject matter expert and project lead in the property and casualty insurance industry. I gained experience supporting clients and internal teams - using my expertise and communication skills to improve processes, share knowledge, and create assistive documentation in a highly regulated environment. I uncovered a resonant career path leading the documentation project team and followed it to my current position.

I am currently exploring further branches of this path including project management and technical writing.
