My educational background was in Clinical Psychology and Human Resource Management.
Until recently, I was the Director of Administration at Chinese Mutual Aid Association, overseeing Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations, and Compliance, and the Interim Executive Director for the Chinese American Museum of Chicago during the museum’s search for a permanent Executive Director. Prior to taking on that role, I was the Executive Director for the museum before I returned to my trained profession of mental health and served on the museum’s board as the Secretary, Vice President, and Chair of the Advisory Council before I was asked to step in as the Interim Executive Director. I also have been self-employed as a Business Strategy Consultant, using a problem-solving approach to assess business needs, analyze available resources and limitations, and make solution-oriented recommendations. I consult primarily with small businesses and nonprofits.
In my free time, I have volunteered for numerous nonprofit organizations, including Boys and Girls Club of Chicago, University of the People, Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, OCA Greater Chicago, Voice of the People in Uptown, Year Up, Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce, TAP-Chicago, Chinese American Museum of Chicago, and Find Your Resilience. I also served on the City of Chicago Mayor’s Office New Americans Advisory Council and has presented at various conferences on issues related to mental health, professional development, and cultural history.
