Employment Experience
Scientus Pharma, Toronto ON

Scientus Pharma’s growth phase had a number of aspects that needed fulfilling. After needed marketing
aspects, I began to operate as a Junior IT person. The head of IT primarily ran a Windows environment with
some Linux systems. Many issues that were dealt with was creating group policies for various departments
around the organization. Adding printers and drive shares with respective permissions. Troubleshooting
wireless access issues pertaining to the control of mac addresses and firewall rules. Standard computer
related issues were only a small part of tasks dealt with at Scientus Pharma, video footage of 120 IP

These were the preliminary steps working under the IT manager. My role became that of an integration
specialist once specific industry software was required to manage various standard operating procedures
within the industry. The integration of this software took place over the course of a year and I can proudly
say it was lead by myself. In leading this project from start to finish, a large aspect was understanding the
various regulations in the industry, along with how it would pertain to the various job functions required
within the organization. Later, I could leverage the software in such a way that it was tailored to all job
functions. The result was successful for Scientus Pharma as they could obtain licensing required in the
pharmacological industry.
Index Exchange, Toronto ON
Marketing Coordinator
April 2015 – August 2016
Index Exchange was in the startup phase when I began and on the cusp of growing into a medium sized
organization. Although my role was titled as a marketing coordinator I quickly noticed the lack of structure.
My initial steps were to hit the ground running, getting work completed that was urgent for clients. After
calming the urgent requests, I was able to step back and look at the way the organization ran, with the
ability to start and establish a proper way to fulfill marketing requests. Utilizing Jira, I created a streamlined
approach to fulfill marketing requests with all relevant details for each project and was able to track my
workload, timelines and quantify the types of work our department did. After setting things up to be
functional we were able to have additional employees also hit the ground running with clear objectives
thanks to this implementation. Over and above the tasks of being a marketing coordinator I began to dive
into managerial tasks, I worked closely with finance to ensure budgets are aligned with marketing needs.
Created schedules for each project with milestones depending on complexity, and ensured we stayed on
course. All projects I produced were presented to the VP of Marketing to ensure accuracy throughout the
creative process. Various degrees of multi-tasking were required in this role as it does oversee the
Canadian and USA divisions of the organization.
I steadily worked with the executives of the organization to understand the objectives they were trying to
achieve and materialized it from a concept to print or digital forms. All design material after being printed or
presented online was distributed to customers across North America and had increased sales figures by
engaging more customers. My initial hiring was for a marketing coordinator role, however, executives saw
how well versed I was with WordPress and then gave me the task of redesigning the entire cpaxrtb.ca
website. I dealt with hosting, design, building and deploying. Along with providing documentation and
source files.
Applications used in this role are the following:
● Adobe Creative Cloud: Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, After Effects,
Acrobat, etc.
● Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint
● Salesforce – kept reports on campaigns up to date
● WordPress - designed and built entire company website http://www.cpaxrtb.ca
● Jira - Built the marketing design queue for steady workflow
● Confluence – created multiple documents for announcements, events, and reports
