I gathered knowledge upon their social-economic situation and based upon it organized them for bringing change by enhancing their quality of life through rights based and integrated approaches to development and gathered experiences in issues relating to their education, general health, sanitation & nutrition, reproductive child health, institution building & strengthening, gender and women empowerment, HIV and AIDS, agricultural practice and alternative livelihood including natural resource management. As program Manager: (From August-2015 and continuing)- In SAHELI (The Society for Agriculture Health Environment Literacy Innovation), Basta- Balasore, is a women’s organization for empowerment of tribal and other poor women in Odisha. Presently the organization is running a project related to dignity of women and adolescent girls. The project objective is to increase dignity of women and adolescent girls by (1) ensuring maternal and child health care services in collaboration with the government health support system, (2) increasing knowledge on food and nutrition during ANC & PNC, (3) reduce instances of early marriage and (4) reduce instances of gender based violence including sexual health. My core responsibility was to build up staff capacity in materializing the project objective, develop community leaders taking women, men and adolescent boys and girls by providing appropriate training and awareness including strengthening their institutions, sensitizing service providers and facilitate interface program for the people of project area and organize health camps related to RCH in collaboration with the government doctors. Carried out monitoring of program execution and documented the outcome of intervention in MIS and prepared monthly, half yearly and annual reports along with documentation of best practices and changes. As program Manager: (From October-2014 to July 2015)- In OROSA (Odisha Regional forum for Social Action) a state level forum for advocacy and networking, I had the opportunity to work in project named “Initiative peace by transforming disputes caused by communal violence in Kandhamal district. My core responsibility was to guide and facilitated staff members to prepare micro plan related to general development of the violence affected people of Kandhamal and DRR (manmade Disaster Risk Reduction) plan along-with skills on Prevention, Rescue, Rehabilitation and Restoration (PRRR). Further facilitated staff members, community leaders and leaders of civil society organizations to form village, panchayat, block and district level people’s forums to address issues related to discrimination, deprivation, justice and dignity through advocacy, lobby and networking. Time to time carried out monitoring and evaluated the outcomes of the intervention in MIS and accordingly prepared reports – monthly, quarterly and annually along with documentation of best practices and changes. As Unit Manager: (From December-2010 to June-2014) – LWSIT (Lutheran World Service India Trust) is an organization that works for deprived and disadvantaged people of the rural area in an integrated approach to development. I was entrusted to guide and facilitate staff members in preparing people centered participatory plan on the issues of institution building, education, maternal and child health including general health, alternative livelihood, gender and development and sustainable agriculture including NRM in an integrated approach to development for the target ST/SC/OBC people in Nuapada district. Organized and facilitated trainings for Community Health Workers (CHWs) with an objective to create health resource persons in the communities, organized RCH training program for mothers with the support of government doctors including interface with ASHA and ANM of the concerned area. Guided staff and community leaders for proper implementation of plans along-with monitoring the same using RBM principles for expected results set forth. Prepared, facilitated staff members and community leaders to carry out participatory evaluation to know the achievement levels of the interventions and to document them. Guided staff members on process documentation of intervention made, changes brought about and case studies. Besides that prepared monthly, quarterly and annual reports. As Project Assistant: (From June-2006 to November-2010) Assisted project coordinator in drafting different reports and documenting process of intervention in Jamda block of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.
