Joy Ciru Ogai

I am an energetic, creative and committed worker and student. My CV highlights one of my talents that allows me to easily adapt in whatever environment I'm placed in, flexibility. I have been fortunate enough to work in the education, real-estate and entertainment industries, all of which require a social, empathetic and positively aggressive individual to flourish.

I am currently studying Computer Science at the Goldsmiths, University of London which has a 17% acceptance rate. I carry out my studies remotely, allowing me to plan my time and pursue other areas of my life such as work. This has also already exposed me to the life of 'working from home'.

I pursue excellence in all that I do, be it professional or leisurely. I graduated in the top 9% of my class in all stages of my education; Elementary, O-levels and A-levels. After my first assessment as an AirBnB host, I received the coveted title of Super-host and have ever since maintained it. As a musician I became the first Kenyan artist to be signed to the Universal Music Group- Kenyan Branch prior to any releases. During my voluntary work at Ncooro Academy as a 5th Grade Assistant Teacher, my class rose to the top of the stream during my term of teaching, prior to otherwise not achieving that feat.

For a while, it was quite difficult to imagine other things to do with my life outside of work and school. However, I have recently found happiness participating in fitness and baking, a rather ironic pair. They both require meticulously following instructions while using the correct tools.

As much as I strive to always be the best version of myself, I do have my shortcomings. I would say one of my weaknesses is trusting others when it comes to teamwork. I am a self prescribed perfectionist so as much as I appreciate the benefits of putting several heads together, I tend to take over the whole project so that it comes out exactly as in my head. However, I have come to recognize that a successful business runs not only with one person's effort, but those of many working towards the same goal. This has also allowed me to apply my somewhat-controlling and assertive traits into becoming a team-leader.

I do not aim to be a company's best employee but rather an asset that strives to realize the vision, mission and goals of said company.
