The Chevrolet dealership is one of the top retail volume dealerships in the country. The responsibilities included: developing standard accounting procedures, monitoring cash flow, and receivable collections, developing internal controls to protect the integrity of the balance sheet for accurate income reporting, coordinating work of external auditors, reviewing tax planning of corporations, hiring, evaluating, and training controllers for individual dealerships. Additional duties included: forecasting, budgeting, benchmarking, advising management on inventory controls, creating pay structures as well as other human resource functions, participating in departmental meetings, communications and developing relationships with bankers, lenders and manufacturers, preparing loan proposals and negotiating terms, preparing franchise applications and buy/sell agreements. Also in charge of all integrated technology and communication systems. August 1997 - October 1998 Company George B Jones & Memphis, TN CPA - Manager/Partner  Provided full range of business operating analyses, audit, tax and financial advisory services for automobile dealerships. Developed client base for the firm through various contacts, dealership organizations and conventions. Managed and trained staff in the planning and preparation of tax, review, and audit engagements for automobile dealerships. Performed evaluations and financial statement analysis for buy/sells and assisted dealers in loan proposals and franchise applications.
