I am available for short and medium-term projects, on a consultancy basis, to provide procurement support and assistance. On this basis I have worked for professional services companies, law firms, large consultancies, pharmaceutical companies, retail and hospitality companies and many more, I have led major procurement projects from beginning to end, or just been involved in specific stages of the process.

I have worked at senior levels in IT for over 20 years. I have excellent communications and interpersonal skills which have included responsibility for negotiating with, contracting, and managing key strategic suppliers. I am now acting as a consultant, bringing my years of expertise to support companies and organisations, including charities, during the sourcing/procurement lifecycle, and also making sure the correct governance and Vendor Management is in place to meet the original requirements of the sourcing activity, be it first or second generational Managed Service or outsourcing. I have most recently been concentrating on Proofreading and Copy Editing documentation of all types, including tender, contract and technical documentation, as well as articles, academic papers, manuscripts and advertising. My professional and technical background, project management skills, eye for detail and desire to get things right the first time supports and enables high-quality work. My main skillsets and expertise have been in IT Managed Services, having tendered and supported mainly multimillion-dollar support contracts over the years, including the transition to and from suppliers, and first-generation outsourcing. I also have considerable experience in Software procurement, both “As A Service”, and other forms of licencing. I have been the strategic owner of some of the most significant relationships with my employer’s partners, including Oracle, Cognizant, Cap Gemini, TCS, HPE, IBM and Microsoft. My aim is always to deliver the best value for the business and regularly have negotiated multi-year cost reductions within IT costs. I have extensive experience in commercial negotiations, using industry best practice protocols, including RFPs and Eauctions. I have negotiated and delivered contracts for End User Computing, Datacentres, Telecoms and Voice Networks, Mobile Phones, Printing Strategies, as well as standardising and improving ongoing managed services. I have also carried out contracting with Cloud and Big Data, including AWS, Azure and Google. I have designed, improved, and implemented governance processes for strategic suppliers and standardised the process and ensured correct escalation procedures for issues and decision making. I also train both sourcing and operational teams in the new processes. Vendor Management and Supplier Relationship Management is also a critical skill-set, including the segmentation of current suppliers into the correct level of Vendor Management, and the driving of best value from this key activity. I have worked with Operational Teams, alongside strategy and architecture teams, to drive increased value and improve contracting and relationships with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders. I am experienced in managing stakeholder relationships both internally and externally. I am confident whether I am working with peers, or at senior executive and board level. I am known for bringing the best out of people and building strong, productive teams.
