I have an extensive background in event management with over 10 years of experience working in various industries from fashion, to service, non-profit, finance and presently entertainment. Being laid off due to the pandemic, I have taken on a few pro bono positions to stay current and broaden my skills. Trained as a graphic designer, being an event and social media manager comes naturally to me. I also have BFA in Advertising and Graphic Design, as well as working as an art director for 15 years previous to switching careers 10 years ago. I have the ability to use all my previous skills and with ease. I have excellent knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Insta Stories, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Patreon, YouTube and other social media best practices.
Presently, in a Pro-Bono position as the Social Media Manager & Events Lead, at Terribly Good Music. I'm leading the marketing strategy content and calendar. Planning, implementing, managing and monitoring "We Adore You" Social Media strategy in order to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts and increase membership to our Patreon website. As well as designing the graphics/videos for daily social media posts.
While at Terribly Good Music, this past fall, working as Pro-Bono, Team Lead and Event Coordinator for the "We Need You" grassroots voting campaign, community campaign engagement was a large piece of the position of our drive. We were striving to empower women to be part of the outcome for our next president, since 50 million registered women voters did not vote in the 2016 election. We also secured interviews with Billboard Magazine and CBS News New York.
I have also served as Event Manager for a non-profit organization in Diversity & Inclusion this past summer for a short period where I started to dip my feet into virtual events. Prior to the pandemic, I served as an Event Manager at Nuveen, where I helped them optimize and execute on a variety of events for both internal and external clients. I have had fantastic experiences and am looking for a long-term opportunity with a highly collaborative and innovative team. I’m a team player who is eager to learn and I believe that my enthusiasm combined with my strong organizational skills, ability to think outside of the box and optimize existing processes would be an asset to your team.
In the matter of days, I will have my DES Digital Event Strategist Certification - March 2021, after completing the examination.
