Running freelance web video company focusing on Wellness and Yoga based in Asia.
Radio New Zealand – Asian Affairs Producer (2008 -2012)
My role was to produce a weekly report that highlights Asians in New Zealand with
the aim of promoting a greater understanding of Asian New Zealanders. The
programme features Asians from Iraq to India to Indonesia, as well as East Asia;
tackling issues, problems and experiences, caused by culture, lifestyle, politics,
religion, arts, music and more. The segment is 10-15 minutes long with a live to air
introduction of the pre-recorded story. As the producer I was responsible for the
entire package, from researching, interviewing, recording and editing and
presenting the show.
TV Reporter/Director (Sept 2003 – 2007; 2008 onwards freelance)
Asia Down Under 4 Newton Road, Auckland, New Zealand
Asia Down Under is a magazine style documentary show with topical, informative
and entertaining stories that reflect the Asian community within New Zealand, but
also of interest to all Kiwis. As a reporter, I did my own research, presenting and

Freelance Documentary Film Maker (2007 to present)
For the last 4 years I’ve been involved in my own freelance documentary film
projects, two of which have been broadcasted in New Zealand. In this role I teamed
up with experienced journalist, Kim Webby to produce two very personal trips into
Asia. The first, “Coming Home” was a journey of self-discovery for both of us
tracing back the historical journey to our ancestral village in Ghanzhou, China. As a
third generation Chinese New Zealander it was a real insight into the understanding
of “what it means to be Chinese”, exploring the life of modern day China and trying
to make sense of how and why my great grand father came to New Zealand over one
hundred years ago.

“Troppodoc”. This half hour documentary follows the journey of Kim Webby as a
Natropath student as she volunteers for a New Zealand doctor who runs a clinic in
the remote area of Northern Sumatra, Indonesia. The closeness of our personal and
professional relationships made this film a real insight into the lives of those less
fortuate than us, as well as for those who have chosen a self-less path to help others.

For both of these documentaries I was the main camera operator and co director.
“Oney Anwar: Chasing the Dream”
This Award Winning film is being broadcast in 6 different countries and distributed
world wide by Garage Entertainment. It documents the inspiring story of Oney
Anwar http://oneyanwar.net and his relentless pursuit to create history by
becoming Indonesia’s most respected surfer. We follow Oney’s rise from humble
beginnings in the surf-drenched jungles of Lakey Peak, Sumbawa, to winning a full
time scholarship in Queensland, Australia and competing to become the first
Indonesian on the World Championship Tour (Now the WSL).
