With a degree in Economics and 30 years of experience living, teaching, and traveling in Asia, I’ve gained a deep appreciation for cultural diversity. From teaching English in Taiwan to AP Economics in China, my passion for education, travel, and Wing Chun Kung Fu drives me to help others succeed in an interconnected world. Taught according to the national curriculum, conducted tests, and provided academic support and guidance to students. September 2012 – July 2021 AP Micro & Macroeconomics Teacher Hefei #8 Senior High School, Anhui, Hefei, China Taught AP Economics courses, preparing students for AP Macroeconomics and Microeconomics exams with the goal of earning college/university credits. Helped students understand the principles of economic systems, decision-making, and international trade. Provided individualized student counseling, guiding students in their academic and extracurricular pursuits, as well as assisting with university applications abroad. Conducted group sessions to prepare students for cultural transitions when moving abroad. September 1996 – April 2009 Kindergarten and Primary Teacher Taichung, Taiwan Taught kindergarten and primary school students. Spent 7 years in a Montessori-style kindergarten, teaching children aged 3 to 8. Collaborated with Chinese colleagues on curriculum development and gained proficiency in Mandarin and cultural understanding.
