My name is Isabelle, founder of Gigi Linguist—a freelance service dedicated to bridging cultures through language, education, and cross-cultural understanding. With over 30 years of experience living, teaching, and traveling across Asia, my journey has cultivated a deep appreciation for the nuances of language and culture. I hold a degree in Economics from Laval University and have worked extensively in both educational and language-based settings, developing a unique skill set that allows me to help others succeed in our increasingly interconnected world.
My career has spanned continents, from teaching English in Taiwan to AP Economics in China, where I spent nearly a decade shaping young minds at Hefei #8 Senior High School. There, I not only taught AP Micro and Macroeconomics but also guided students through university applications abroad, helping them navigate cultural transitions and preparing them for life in global academic environments. My passion for education goes beyond the classroom, and I believe in the transformative power of teaching, whether it's introducing young learners to foundational concepts or helping university-bound students prepare for their futures.
In 2022, I launched Gigi Linguist, combining my love for teaching, language, and cultural exchange. Through this venture, I collaborate with organizations like ECI Innovations, Elite TransAgency, PoliLingua, and Outlier AI Training, providing freelance translation, tutoring, and language services. Whether working on translations or offering personalized tutoring, I approach each project with the same commitment to excellence that has defined my career.
My professional journey has also been deeply enriched by my love of Wing Chun Kung Fu, which has instilled in me values of discipline, focus, and respect—principles I carry into every interaction with clients and students. Additionally, my seven years teaching in a Montessori-style kindergarten in Taiwan gave me a foundational understanding of different educational philosophies and the importance of cultural immersion in learning.
Whether I'm helping students prepare for international exams, guiding professionals through language barriers, or simply sharing insights about the cultures I’ve experienced, my goal is always the same: to help others thrive in a world that is more connected than ever before.
Let’s work together to bridge the gap between cultures, enhance communication, and open up new possibilities through language and education.
