Hilary Strath

The previous six years of my career have been dedicated to public relations—both as part of an in-house team and agency side—specifically with regard to consumer and corporate accounts and projects. My passion for travel, coupled with my work with global brands, has meant I have spent a good portion of my life traveling for work, and am now looking for an autonomous role with a focus on forward-looking communication strategies and favoring remote work. Having worked with numerous tech and consumer brands—including my current position as communications specialist at Rocky Mountaineer—I have the PR, marketing and media relations skills honed through experience, as well as the entrepreneurial and business background through agency work and education. My talent for securing media coverage in both mainstream and trade publications, providing innovative media recommendations, and my work involving internal, corporate and consumer communications has made me stand out to colleagues and partners. I love being both strategic and creative, while working in a fast-paced environment to find solutions and deliver results. I most recently have secured and managed a top tier media FAM trip for 40 journalists, media trained our executive team and developed pitches to secure corporate coverage about our new president. My agency experience with Edelman allowed me to work directly with journalists spanning print, radio and live broadcast, in addition to my major strength of securing online media and drafting guest blog posts. With my media expertise in local, national and international markets, thorough experience in corporate communications and breadth of social media knowledge, I am poised to promote the development and growth of established websites, product launches and more traditional consumer and tourism products.
