I’m Flordeliza Dizon, and you can call me Liz. My first online job was online ESL teaching, and that lasted for almost four years. I’m so grateful for it because it opened my eyes to a lot of opportunities online. I became computer savvy. I discovered many things that you can do with your computer. Then after that, I accepted a short-term offer to be a social media administrator for a non-profit organization. This group helps Filipinos alleviate hunger. Some of the tasks:
- Created Facebook Page
- Posted charitable events, feeding and outreach programs, medical missions, and more.
- Created simple graphic designs to encourage people to help using Canva
I entered BPO, where I now have 2 years of experience. I have handled three different accounts.
- The first account was with a US healthcare company (Wellcare Centene), where I was assigned to healthcare providers. I helped them know each member's benefit, eligibility, status of the claim, and other insurance coverage.
- The next was a US home warranty company (American Home Shield), where I was assigned to the members. I assisted them in submitting a service request for appliance repair and resolving any other issues.
- The most recent was an American multinational conglomerate holding company which is globally known as FedEx. At first, I was assigned to help recipients. I let them know the status of their package. Then later on, I was given an opportunity to provide email support to the big companies that use FedEx. Every day, I monitor bulk shipments from multiple companies.
This year, I was given a great opportunity to become an executive virtual assistant to the CEO. It was a project-based contract. Assurant BPO Solutions Inc. hired me to help their client, who has no executive assistant. As an executive assistant, I helped my client with;
- Calendar Management
- Set up the meeting and make sure of my presence to get the minutes
- Google Workspace Admin
- Access to Trello
- Researching for information that he needs
- Coordinating with clients and staff
- Create to-do-list
- Personal needs such as restaurant reservation, hotel accommodations, purchasing concert tickets, and more
- Make sure everything is well-organized and coordinated
Right now, I’m still looking for things that could help me improve my skills. It’s continuous learning. I know I should never stop because hard work truly pays off. I always aim to give excellent service to my future clients and companies. I can’t wait to show the things that I learned and the skills that I gained from my past roles.
