Transcription
Transcribing and creating written versions of audio and video
recordings, meetings, and conversations.
Listen to dictated recordings and transcribe the information or data
into correspondence, reports and other documents.
Usually use a headset and stop the recording as they go to enter
information into a word processing program.
Transcribers review drafts prepared by speech recognition software,
ensuring that it’s correct and complete, and making any edits for
accuracy and consistency in style.
Transcriptionists proofread and edit the content to make sure that
the text is readable and there are no grammar errors.
A key part of this job is to spot any inaccuracies and errors, and to
add in missing information within the final report.
Transcribers check that every aspect of the document is correct,
particularly if they’re in a medical or legal setting, as discrepancies
can have a negative impact.
Once the work is complete, transcribers send it to the client for their
review. If they have any edits, transcribers will carry out the
additional work for final approval.

Voice recognition software technology works by recording a voice
sample of a person’s speech and digitizing it to create a unique voice
print or template.
Each spoken word is broken up into discrete segments which
comprise several tones.
These tones can be digitized and are captured to create a speaker’s
unique voice template.
Variation in this movement causes changes in the pace, manner and
pronunciation of a person’s voice, which include the person’s accent,
tone, pitch, pace of talking.
