Emily Shimizu

I am a 2020 UMD graduate, and I majored in Government with an international focus and a minor in Spanish culture and heritage. I am Knowledgable with R and SPSS programming; I also have computer proficiency with the use of Google Suite and Office 365.

I am currently employed as a Team Lead for ID.me. I currently use and am proficient with Zendesk, Atlassian, and JIRA. I have excellent leadership skills with collaborative and problem-solving abilities. I manage a team of representatives and am responsible for their daily goals, assist with any issues/questions, and supervise any progress. I take charge of delegating tasks and projects to representatives according to their skills. I have also expanded my capabilities in the company by providing assistance to our recruiting department to interview possible new hires and screen them. A majority of the representatives that have been screened by me have made significant contributions to their departments and the company. I have extended my responsibilities and collaborative work by teaming up with our product team and bringing awareness to any bugs and systematic flaws in order to improve the user experience. I have identified new opportunities in improving our product and have collaborated with the product team to provide tracking to streamline any loopholes. 

I am currently seeking a position that will hone my professional expertise with the ability to grow.
