Elizabeth Bell

I specialize in implementing best operating practices, standardize procedures and structure in growing companies. I am passionate about cultivating a collaborative culture that aligns with the company’s vision, commitment to their clients, core values and diverse team. In my role as an executive leader at Deeley Insurance Group, we rebuilt the entire infrastructure of an 85-year independent insurance agency to transform it into a high performing organization. During my tenure, we increased EBITDA from 6% to over 20%, divested a non-performing business unit and reinvested in the sales to drive double digit growth.

I am currently the Chief Financial Officer for an architecture and engineering firm. We recently transitioned the role from my predecessor, who held the position for the past 22 years. While I am enjoying learning a new industry, the current role is not fulfilling my desire to contribute at an executive level. I am working on a plan automate the accounting functions and elevate the team to support the operations at a higher level but am not sure that it the right fit for me. I am keeping my options open and exploring other opportunities, especially with the ability to work remotely.

While I am very committed to my career, I balance my life with my passion for exploring new places on road trips in our RV, jet-setting to warmer climates, watching an exciting Orioles, Ravens or Maryland Terps game and seeking out live music at interesting venues. I am also an avid reader and podcast subscriber.  I am currently binge listening to Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations and have recently finished reading Ken Follett’s century trilogy (Fall of Giants, Winter of the World and Edge of Eternity), Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens and The Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline.
