I’m Dewald du Toit, a driven and empathetic individual with a deep-rooted passion for technology, problem-solving, and user experience. I bring a blend of technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to the table—built through hands-on experience in customer support and further developed through IT training and practical work placements.

My professional journey began in customer and product support roles, where I gained valuable insight into the challenges users face with hardware and software systems. During my time at Think Digital Global, I deployed, maintained, and troubleshot software/hardware for access control systems. This experience gave me a solid foundation in technical diagnostics and fieldwork, as well as an appreciation for the importance of reliability and communication in support environments.

Alongside my work, I’ve been actively upskilling through Google’s IT Support Professional Certificates on Coursera. I’ve completed “Technical Support Fundamentals” (90.35%) and “The Bits and Bytes of Computer Networking” (85.32%), with more modules underway. These courses have sharpened my understanding of operating systems, networking, and troubleshooting tools—further aligning me with the needs of modern IT support roles.

What sets me apart is my customer-centric mindset. I value patience, humility, and clear communication. I listen actively, ask questions when I’m unsure, and always aim to learn from feedback without ego. My ability to relate to users, combined with a methodical approach to problems, makes me an effective support professional who builds trust and solves issues efficiently.

In the longer term, I aspire to move into game development or software support within creative tech spaces. I hold a BCIS in Game Design and Development from Vega, and I’ve worked with tools like Unity and languages like C#. While my current focus is IT support, I view this path as the perfect foundation for understanding systems and users before building experiences for them.

I’m currently seeking an entry-level IT Support Technician or Help Desk role—preferably in Johannesburg—where I can gain practical experience, contribute positively to the team, and continue growing into a more technical or development-oriented career.
