Derrick Richardson

Derrick Richardson is a creative communicator who flourishes in public relations and marketing. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of North Florida (UNF) where he majored in communication with an emphasis in public relations and then earned his master's degree from Purdue University, majoring in strategic communication.

As a communications professional, he's seeking the opportunity to obtain a position where he can demonstrate his professional experience and education as an integral part of a progressive organization. In his collective experience to date, he's exhibited capabilities of effective communication, independent problem solving and valuable insights into the needs of organizations.

He’s a determined individual that will stop at nothing to reach his goals. He’s a hard worker who is always ready to learn. Derrick is currently in the nonprofit certification program through UNF and working on other business endeavors as well. He plans on starting his own nonprofit after completion of the program because he has a heart for seeing his community flourish.

He currently works as a senior community outreach specialist with Atkins Global consulting for the Florida Department of Transportation. He also recently became a licensed real estate agent. He’s passionate about writing (poetry and blogging), traveling, helping others and serving in his role as community outreach director at his church.
