INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
Débora Carvalho
ABOUT ME
I am an industrial designer specialized in furniture and product
development, with experience in 3D modeling, and technical
documentation.
I truly believe that design can change people's reality, improve
their quality of life, and make their daily routine more practical;
and beautiful, I dare say.
As a designer, I am fascinated by the ability to translate abstract
emotions and concepts into tangible images, as well as to
deconstruct already structured elements to create something
deep and unique.

DESIGNO CHAIR
3D modeling for the Brazilian design agency
Designo Design. The chair features a leather seat
and backrest supported by a metal structure.
The leather works like a cover that fits over the
armrests and backrest, with no fasteners or
internal frame, just the material's tension
holding the seat

MAXMILA CASE
We created this custom sample case for
Maxmila, one of Designo's long-time partners in
the furniture industry. The case was developed
to meet their specific need for a sophisticated,
functional solution to present their material
samples.
Made of high-quality leather with exposed
stitching and a debossed logo, the case
combines sophistication and durability. Inside,
velvet-lined compartments with adjustable
velcro dividers neatly organize various samples,
including finishes, MDF, acrylics, and tubes.

MORE DESIGNO
GRACE VANITY
Grace Vanity was designed by me while working for
Móveis Estrela (M.E Gonçalves group) to meet the
company's need for a product in the category that
would attract teenagers and young adults women.
The big challenge was maintain sophistication and
an exclusive design without compromising
production scalability.

EVEN VANITY
Even and Grace are part of a Vanity series of four
products. We optimized the design to reduce
manufacturing costs, in order to make the
products more accessible to the company’s
target audience.
Working closely with the prototyping and
manufacturing engineering team was crucial so
the four dressing tables could have standardized
processes and still maintain an individual
design.

BABYCOT
Development of a clean crib, aiming at
practicality, comfort, and safety. The project was
developed in partnership with the Brazilian
company Kyk-Somniare, according to their
manufacturing guidelines and mandatory safety
standards for cribs (ABNT NBR / Iso 9001).
The main question for this project was: “What is
the ideal crib for modern parents?”

ORNAMENTÀ
Pendant design inspired by the vibrant
eccentricity of South American flora. It references
the Fuchsia flower, affectionately known in Brazil
as 'Princess' Earrings' (Brinco de Princesa).
Reclaimed wood from a demolished building was
used as an alternative material, creating a striking
contrast with silver and adding a layer of
narrative and sustainability to the piece.

BABYCARE
Baby Care is a concept product whose sole
purpose was the material study. The main idea
came as a solution to parents’ mobility
difficulties.
At the same time, we tried to overcome the
limitations that the use of metal would bring to
the final product, as it was the mandatory raw
material for at least 90% of the piece.

BOLENA BENCH
Bolena was developed as a creative exploration
of form and texture through the fusion of wood
and fabric.
The main goal was to investigate material
interaction, structural integrity, and user
experience, while being tailored to real-world
usability

VIANA COAT RACK
A reinterpretation of a coat rack inspired by
neoclassical design. The design process
involved simplifying ornamental features to
meet the demands of mass production while
preserving its stylistic essence.
Reclaimed wood was used for the central stem,
while MDF was chosen for the hooks, combining
sustainability with ease of manufacturing. Bold
color options contrast with the traditionally
sober aesthetics of neoclassicism, adding a
playful and contemporary touch.
