I started off my career as a Customer Service Representative with Optum Global Solutions in Cebu City where I performed as an Access Support Advocate making outbound calls to physician’s office and verify if they can accept new patients and if they are in-network with the member’s insurance policy. Then, I deliver back this information to the member through a phone call, mail, and/or email. It was my pride during that period working as an advocate to finish my workload beyond what was expected.
About 2 years after working as an advocate, I moved in Siargao Island as an Operations Manager with Lemon Laundry Siargao and Water Depot Siargao where I performed a few HR duties like interviewing and hiring staffs and payroll. I was also responsible training the staffs for the implementation of the standard operating procedure to make sure we are all synchronized with the process. A lot of the admin tasks was under my concern such as staff scheduling, basic accounting, purchasing/procurement, building/facility maintenance, health safety, data analysis, forecasting, and more.
I was able to stabilize the operations about a year after since we opened and I became very flexible with my work schedules which allowed me to work freelance with a few projects and campaigns such as the B2B marketing and lead generation with Callbox Siargao as well as social media marketing and chat support with Gotmarked Tours.
