I am a Bahamas-based consultant with a communications background. I also have managerial and project coordination experience (as well as some educational/training experience).
As a communications consultant, I have focused primarily on jobs that allow me to utilize my language skills – this has involved writing a lot of articles, press releases, and speeches, as well as functioning in an editing capacity. I have served as the primary writer/content creator for a number of national campaigns, including lead content creator for the “Vote Yes” gaming referendum campaign, communications for the Ministry of Financial Services, serving as the primary copy-editor of the National Youth Policy, writing speeches during general election campaigns, and functioning (sub-contracted) as the primary writer and editor for the top PR agency in the country.
I have edited and written a wide variety of content and worked with a very diverse clientele, which has required me to perform under a number of different guidelines and formats. For most of my working life I have performed in a work-from-home/telecommuting capacity with minimal direct supervision while maintaining healthy teamwork dynamics, so the process of transitioning to a remote job would not be difficult. I am very detail-oriented and accustomed to working in fast-paced environments that require high degrees of efficiency and effort without sacrificing accuracy/quality. I have also served as director of a very successful non-profit and worked as an at-risk youth consultant with NGOs and government ministries. This work has included training responsibilities, as well as management of multi-million dollar budgets, schedule tracking, deliverable tracking and reporting, formal project management functions, supervision of staff, and a number of other mid to high-level functions.
