Brendan Ford

Prior to my transition into Release & Deployment Lead, I performed the role of Deployment Service Coordinator at Spark New Zealand. In this position I undertook a variety of administrative and coordination tasks that are essential to the operational ability of the Release & Deployment team. These tasks included the creation and maintenance of financial documents, quoting and bookkeeping, monthly performance reporting, maintenance of project documentation, databases and pipelines as well as leading weekly SCRUM meetings. I have absorbed these tasks into my current position as Release & Deployment Lead and continue to perform them to a high standard. 

In my current position as Release & Deployment Lead, I undertake specialised tasks that are in addition to the Coordinator responsibilities. These are to facilitate software and hardware releases to Government clients and include the coordination of resources, risk mitigation, regular communication of progress to stakeholders and the development of release schedules. While ensuring these tasks are met to the highest standard, I have also established strong rapport with my clients as well as work colleagues and actively exercise an ITIL and Agile Framework approach to all areas.

Through my study at Victoria University of Wellington I completed a Bachelor of Commerce in Management and Information Systems. Throughout these years, I engaged with theory behind these disciplines and acquired technical skills in a range of computer programs as well as strong analytical abilities. 

My working experience has allowed me to adapt to changing work environments and streams seamlessly. My ability to work and communicate effectively under pressure, all while establishing and maintaining strong client and work relationships, has provided me with professional problem solving and time management skills with a high attention to detail.
