My name is Ana Palazzo. I am an agronomist passionated for the agribusiness industry and for creating measurable and executable strategies. From a personal level I am determined, analytic, engaged, and resilient person. My professional background is mostly related to project management and strategic planning, especially considering financial, operational, and business development scopes.
In 2013 I started working for Timac Agro, a US$ 1 billion revenue company, dedicated to produce and market fertilizers. My main responsibilities were to develop the commercial strategy, especially regarding the client’s approach and strengthen of commercial partnerships. I was able to increase the sales volume by 80% in five months.
Them I joined PwC Agribusiness Intelligence Department. At PwC, I could not only travel across the country, but also support international projects. This period brought me deep knowledge about different agricultural activities in a range of countries, such as United States, Germany, France, Egypt, and China. The team was able to achieve USD 350k revenue (20% increase compared to previous fiscal year).
In 2016, I joined Raízen Agroindustrial Strategy Team. Raízen is Brazils third largest company, with an approximately USD 30 billion revenue. I was in charge of building the company
s agricultural strategy, mainly regarding the development of management tools. The project accounted for USD 5 million in OPEX savings, considering a USD 400 million budget. In addition, I was responsible for the development of a complete technological tool and BI analyzes. The platform accounted for the integration of 5 different systems and 80 KPIs. In 2019, I was promoted to be in charge of the Strategic Partnerships area, managing commercial partnerships of the company.
After that I joined Rabobank`s consulting team, as a project manager, in charge of advisory projects for agribusiness corporate clients. I was able to construct and implement strategic planning for companies in the grains, animal health, cooperative sector, and other markets. The initiatives include deep financial analyzes and results projection, besides complete action plans.
In 2021 I was the Brazilian admitted as full scholar to the Master of Contemporary China Studies program, at Renmin University. The program is dedicated to study China`s major contemporary challenges.
In 2022, I was invited to assume a career transition challenge, as the head of strategic planning and operations at Vallya Agro, a new company that I helped creating, focused on the development of financial projects to the Brazilian agribusiness. I was in charge of the creation and execution of the go to market strategy for projects related to Agribusiness Investment Funds (FIAGRO). The business intelligence created was pioneer and resulted in the first ever produced global master thesis related to the subject.
Back to Brazil I was in charge of the strategic planning and corporate project management area at Ourofino Agrociência, a Brazilian company in the crop protection industry. In this role I was able to decrease of COGS by USD 10MM (USD 13MM net profit company) by redefinition of sourcing strategy and decrease of SG&A/net revenue by 2 p.p. by business processes improvement in terms of performance and financial KPIs control.
My role career is based on creating different strategies, organizing processes, design and implementing action plans. With that ability I boosted team and businesses performance, leading companies to achieve better results and teams to build a legacy for their company and their own lives. My major practical contributions would be in bringing competitive advantages and helping to consolidate culture in a more organized, productive and result driven way.
